Jean-Cosme Delaloye, Director
Jean-Cosme has covered many crises around the world, from the civil war in Burundi to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to the earthquake in Haiti. In 2012, he produced and directed BY MY SIDE (A MI LADO), a feature documentary about 3 young women living in the garbage dump of Managua in Nicaragua. The film was selected at numerous festivals and won the award for best documentary from Central America at Festival Icaro in November 2012. He has co-authored RAZOR WIRE RODEO in 2006, a feature documentary co-produced by Swiss Public Television about the Angola prison rodeo in Louisiana. In the last few years, Jean-Cosme has done in-depth stories for the Tribune de Genève and for Swiss Public Radio in Central America, focusing on critical social issues such as the redemption of gang members and the murders of transsexual prostitutes in Honduras, and the illegal immigration from Guatemala into the United States. In 2012, he produced and directed RIDING THE DEATH TRAIN, a short documentary about a young Mexican migrant who fell from La Bestia. The film was the launch film of AJ+ in the US in September 2014.
Francine Lusser & Gérard Monier, Producers
In 2003, Francine Lusser and Gérard Monier co-founded Tipi’mages, managing smaller and big international shootings like SYRIANA, CONTAGION or THE WOLF OF WALL STREET (Swiss part) as a line production company. In 2006, they began producing their own films, starting with the acclaimed, award-winning feature documentary Nomad’s land, as well a three tv documenta- ries and three short films. Their last cinema release was in September 2012 with the feature documentary film SÂDHU. They currently have one feature fiction and one feature doc in pre- production and four feature fictions and one documentary in development.
Lila Place, Editor
Lila is a documentary film editor and director who got her start in the editing rooms of Woody Allen and Spike Lee. As an editor she’s worked on numerous films that have won awards at top film festivals including Silverdocs, IDFA, Hot Docs and Full Frame and aired nationally as well as internationally. She has also directed several short films, including UNDER THE ROLLER COASTER, which won best short at Slamdance and screened at the MoMA and was broadcast on PBS. Lila believes that intimate, personal stories can convey powerful, universal themes and that documentaries can be as cinematic and emotionally compelling as fiction.
Nicholas Strini, Videographer
Nick Strini arrived in New York in 2004 after graduating from Macalester College with a degree in philosophy. Originally pursuing a career as a writer, he worked for a media company and freelanced for various magazines. However, during a trip to the Dominican Republic in 2006, he got his hands on a video camera and was immediately fascinated by film making. Since then, Nick has shot and directed an array projects for companies such as Nike, Reebok, Saks and Playboy. Nick currently resides in NYC, working as a freelance cinematographer for commercials, films and web content. He still writes on the side. LA PRENDA is his first feature documentary as a videographer.
Jacob Jimenez, Videographer
Jacob is a Guatemala-based videographer. He is an alumni of the well-known Escuela de Cine y Television in Cuba. He teaches at Casa Comal in Guatemala and has worked as videographer in several projects from the film school in Guatemala. LA PRENDA is his first feature documentary.
Pablo Aguilar, Videographer
Pablo is a Guatemala-based videographer.
Mirko aka Mirko Loko is a producer and a DJ. He was born in 1979 in Lausanne and has loved music for as long as he can recall. After DJing in the clubs, Couleur3 (Swiss national radio) snapped him up as a DJ and programme planner between 1997 and 2001. During this time he continued DJing nationally but also started performing internationally at places like Rex in Paris, Cielo in New York, and at Detroit Electronic Music Festival, where he was invited to perform by Carl Craig. In 2003 he moved temporarily to New York and took a residency at Christian Smith’s party, Tronic Treatment. In 2009 Cadenza released Mirko’s debut solo album – Seventynine. Mirko’s passion continues to take his music to new places. LA PRENDA is his first film soundtrack.
Denis Séchaud, Sound mix
Denis is a top sound designer from Geneva, Switzerland. He is the founder of Studio Masé. He has long list of credits like LEFT FOOT RIGHT FOOT, SADHU, VOLTA A TERRA, KALASH and SEX TOYS STORIES among other.
Alejandro Castillo, Sound design
Alejandro Castillo is a sound designer based in Barcelona, Spain. In September 2014, he teamed up with Denis Séchaud and Studio Masé to do the sound design of LA PRENDA, his first feature documentary in that role.
Ariana McLean, Assistant editor
Ariana likes to call herself “Media Maker / Social Justice Worker” because she is passionate about creating art, videos, graphic design, photography, and she is equally passionate about poverty alleviation, human rights, and community/youth empowerment. As an artist in a family of artists, she has a creative eye , with the brain and logic of an engineer (of which, she likes to think she inherited from her grandfather). LA PRENDA is her first feature documentary as an assistant editor.
